Go beyond with Assist: an iOS app that redefines human interaction with AI

Every team dreams of saying: "Nailed it!" But what can the Universe team say, having launched a new product in just a week?
With Assist, we're opening a new chapter in user interaction with AI systems, offering personalized recommendations through its stylish design and artificial intelligence capabilities.
From ideation to realization, it's just one small step for Universe
Business orientation stands as a core value, and even during the testing phase, we ensure that this product is a rational use of resources. As soon as the project shows a positive trend, we allocate a dedicated team to enhance it. This time it happened a bit faster ;)
We not only felt the need for something fresh, but also realized that communicating with AI can be cool. That's where our story begins. Recognizing the demand for interaction tools with AI, the company decided to make a swift entry into the market.
The way of making Assist began with creative brainstorming sessions discussing ways to integrate ChatGPT technology into the product. These sessions involving the CEO, CTO, and analysts at Universe led to the birth of Assist — an application that simplifies user interaction with AI and makes this technology accessible to everyone, whatever the age or profession.
It was clear that speed was essential to keep up with the trend.
We started by clearly defining our product's USP—creating personalized recommendations for each user. Assist adapts to the information users provide during onboarding: their interests, hobbies, lifestyle, and more. As a result, each user's home screen displays unique recommendations generated specifically for them, with constant updates throughout the day.
For example, if you enjoy starting your morning with Colombian and Ethiopian bean filter coffee, our product might recommend new varieties that you might potentially enjoy. In the evening, it may suggest new dinner recipes.
The high quality of these recommendations was achieved through meticulous approach to prompt engineering.
It has quickly led to the creation of an MVP—a platform for interacting with artificial intelligence via the Open AI API. The very next day, the first design iteration was developed and swiftly implemented, adding the capability of generating personalized recommendations through AI. Extra efforts were focused on bug fixes, app configuration, and further review and approval in the App Store.
For the technical stack, Arthur Mayorsky, Team Lead of iOS development, has chosen SwiftUI and Combine. It was a win-win combo, as SwiftUI greatly accelerated the UI development.
After the initial review from Apple, we received a list of fixes required. The initial version of the app was free and subscription-free. However, all questions and requirements were promptly solved on the same day.
And now our product is in the App Store.

Over 50% of premium users return to us the next day or a bit later. It's like discovering a new reality where AI isn't just about robots but it’s a true assistant who understands your desires before you even voice them.
