Hi!
Got a great opportunity to become the first author of the Universe blog in the #Uni_experts section. Let me briefly introduce myself and explain why I want to start with the topic of ChatGPT. My name is Yurii Mokrushin, and I have been working as CTO at Universe for a year now. Being in the position of a technical director means staying up-to-date with the latest technological developments and monitoring opportunities for product improvement and user satisfaction.
I’ve been closely following the development of artificial intelligence, but when ChatGPT became widely accessible and anyone could try it out, I was bombarded with numerous questions, ranging from simple ones like whether this technology will replace humans to strategic ones about how this tool will provide new possibilities for product development in the Universe.
So, let me briefly explain my perspective on the potential of ChatGPT
First and foremost, I see boundless opportunities here. And like with any new technology, we cannot fully predict its impact just yet. Of course, we’ll face challenges and failures, and it will take time to explore all the possibilities of artificial intelligence. However, I am confident that this technology has the potential to change the way we communicate and work with information.
ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot developed by OpenAI. The prototype is based on the OpenAI GPT-3.5 model, which is an enhanced version of GPT-4. So, this is not the first GPT chatbot, but this version has gained popularity due to its "human-like" responses, which users find appealing.
This neural network model is able to build up texts that resemble human writing. It can be your assistant in software development, learning new technologies, and doing research. Using it will help you to generate ideas, solve complex tasks, and even predict trends in the IT world.
You may ask: "Yurа, will it replace humans or not?"
Let's put it this way: many workplaces will undergo changes. Global companies have already analyzed the professions that will be most affected by the implementation of ChatGPT, including editors, journalists, analysts, customer service agents, quality control engineers etc.
However, these jobs will not disappear but rather be modernized and improved with the help of such systems. In addition, many new job opportunities are emerging, such as chatbot trainers.
The way one SHOULDN’T use this chatbot
As a substitute for Google. Chatbots and search engines work on different algorithms. There are particular AI-based products for searching, but only ChatGPT is not suitable.
For finding answers to abstract, complex, and comprehensive questions. For example, questions like "How to make a million?" or "When will the war end?" You may receive answers, but they will be generic.
Avoid using its current data. For instance, inquiries about the BitCoin exchange rate.
For solving tasks that require precision in calculations (e.g., physics or mathematics problems).
So, in what areas can ChatGPT be indispensable?
Let me demonstrate this through my colleagues’ experience who have already implemented AI in their work, according to their job specifics or personal goals.
There is still much more to discuss on this topic, so if you have your own experience or cool ideas for AI applications, I’d love to see you in the Universe.
Let's move forward and upward: let's consider this AI as one of the brightest technologies of our future and try not to let it get out of control ;)
